Sheep O' Clock
Submission to GMTK Game Jam 2026
THE THEME: COUNTDOWN
Have you ever lain awake at night doing the math on how many hours of sleep you have left? Anyone who has stared at a ceiling at 2AM has run that clock. It ticks down whether you want it to or not, and the more you notice it, the harder it gets to sleep.
WHY THIS GAME FITS THE THEME
The game is built around this familiar countdown from ordinary life - the one nobody thinks of as a countdown.
You want to sleep, but feeling that time tick down silently in your head only makes it harder to drift off. So you fall back to the old trick: counting sheep. The problem is, the longer you stay awake, the less the dream cooperates. Sheep drift past, your focus slips, and the clock keeps moving.
HOW TO PLAY
- Click a sheep to count it
- Each sheep you count correctly fills your sleep bar.
- Not everything drifting past is a sheep
- Fill up the sleep bar before your sleeping time runs out.
Win: you fall asleep and wake to a new day, rested in body and mind.
Lose: the clock beats you, you're up all night, and drag into the day exhausted.
Controls: mouse only
